The owners of The Coop were initially developing this French-style chicken and salad bar project for a third party when they suddenly decided not to proceed. The owners decided to see through with the project because of its potential albeit with some incomplete designs. They approached us to collaborate and complete the front-of-house shop fitting plans which we would then fabricate fully in-house.

The final design concept was a sophisticated and modern nod to a chicken’s coop. The food-safety compliant 9.5 metres long counter is an intriguing combination of stainless steel, roughly dressed timbers and aged steel accents on the facade. The butcher’s block serving counter lends a charming touch. For the shelves, we chose the enduring and versatile Tallowwood native hardwood. With no visible joins and curved edges, the shelves are another outstanding highlight of this project.
