In 2018, Frankie God of Hair seized the opportunity to expand his Mullumbimby hair salon into the adjacent shop to respond to his fast-growing clientele base.
Tucked away in a cute little laneway in the heart of the town, the uber-talented Frankie required a complete redesign of his shop fitting.
To increase his cutting bays, we manufactured two double-sided free-standing islands with mirrors and tables made from solid Spotted Gum timber. Concealed inside is a steel base also made by us to strengthen and stabilise the free-standing units.
A signature legacy design, this combination of timber and steel imbues the space with a contemporary yet warm sensibility – not to mention a funky vintage vibe. To complement this theme, we created two black laminated ply display shelving units with storage cupboards at the back of the salon.
As Frankie is proud of his German heritage, he specifically requested extra space within the shelves for a Schnapps bar. We’re chuffed to say that Frankie God of Hair has since become one of Mullumbimby’s most iconic, raved-about hair salons, thanks in part to the atmosphere created by our shop fitting.
